A Non-Custodial Lightning-First Bitcoin Exchange in Mexico.
With Swapido, you can sell Bitcoin over the Lightning Network and instantly send pesos to any bank account in Mexico. This service is available to customers worldwide, with the exception of US citizens and those in sanctioned countries.

Who am I?
Many know me as the CEO (and co-founder) of Veriphi, a Canadian startup that provided self-custody support services and became a non-custodial, bitcoin-only exchange.
That chapter ended when we were acquihired by Bull Bitcoin, and I worked there as VP until mid 2022.
Since then, I've contributed to bitcoin projects like Wasabi Wallet and Bitcoin Optech as a content marketer and technical writer.
I moved to Mexico in 2021, right in the middle of the government COVID lockdowns that hit Canada particularly hard.
Since moving here, I've been on an expat journey that led me to create Swapido to serve Mexican bitcoiners and expats alike.
What we do at Swapido
Swapido leverages the Lightning Network, a non-custodial experience, and the SPEI system to provide the fastest and most convenient way to sell bitcoin in Mexico. Users can now pay for virtually anything in the country: rent, tacos for dinner, a taxi ride and more, all with bitcoin, directly from their wallet.
How Swapido Works
- Create an Order: Select the amount and enter the recipient's name and CLABE (bank account) number.
- Pay a Lightning Invoice: Pay the invoice from your wallet.
- Receive Pesos: Instantly send Pesos to any bank account in Mexico.
After years of working in the Bitcoin space and living as an expat in Mexico, I knew there had to be a better way to use bitcoin in Mexico.
Swapido fulfills that vision.
Swapido's mission
At Swapido, we believe that a Bitcoin century is just starting. Swapido is committed to meeting the growing demand for Bitcoin on-ramping and off-ramping solutions in Latin America, starting with Mexico.
At Swapido, we believe in Bitcoin as a medium of exchange, not only as a store of value. I have used Bitcoin on a daily basis for the past few years.
At Swapido we also believe that the traditional financial system isn't going anywhere. Bitcoin and TradFi will co-exist.
Swapido's mission is to be the bridge between Bitcoin and TradFi in Latin America.
